The former domestic wing in the north west of the monastry has been renovated and since 2007 accommodates the museum of the abbey as well as guest rooms, offices and seminar rooms.
With the museum on the ground floor visitors can gain insights into the basic rules of Saint Benedict, the characteristic features of the monastery and its monks. Outstanding works of art are shown in changing special exhibitions and the Romanesque frescoes of the crypt of Marienberg can be seen in a film. For English speakes free audio guides are available.
The museum's shop offers reading material (only in German and Italian) as well as a wide selection of postcards, gifts, local food products and crafts.
