Minerals – the gleaming treasures of Marienberg

The Marienberg monastery possesses a magnificent collection of minerals. From 15 March 2021 the special exhibition will be accessible in our museum "Ora et labora". The exhibition is as extensive as it is diverse: shining crystals, gemstones, glossy metals as well as some equipment from the past find place in this exhibition.
The majority of these minerals were sought and „blasted out“ by the Benedictine monks of the Marienberg monastery. How this is done we would like to show you in a short film. Back to all exhibitions
